Detaillierte Informationen zur Anreise finden Sie hier.
At the beginning of this stage on the hiking route "From Glacier to Wine", we take trail number 616, which leads steeply downhill via the idyllically situated Lärchbodenalm (Tel. +43 3687 81743) to the high plateau of Ramsau am Dachstein. We are accompanied on this descent by the beautiful view down to the plateau as well as to the opposite Schladminger Tauern, which await us on our next stages. Arrived at the plateau, we keep to the right after the Hotel Feistererhof to cross meadows and past beautifully situated houses and farms to the Eiskarlift, a small drag lift. Here the hiking trail makes a turn to the left to lead us directly into the center of Ramsau am Dachstein.
The further path now leads us towards the ski jump and cross-country stadium, where every year in December the Nordic World Cup of the FIS is hosted and the best Nordic combined athletes in the world compete. On the west side of the ski jump, we now head uphill through shady forests to the Kulmberg. The further way leads us to the organic farm Frienerhof with its beautiful herb garden and the idyllic location opposite the Schladminger Tauern. From here the comfortable descent to the town of Schladming takes place, which is a welcome stopover or even stage destination, because either on foot or by hiking bus we can ascend or ride the next morning to the Hochwurzen cable car, which takes us into the Schladminger Tauern. In Schladming, the path first leads us along the Enns River to finally reach the western end of the main square via Dachsteingasse. Here is now not hiking, but strolling announced. Numerous stores and cafés invite you to shop, enjoy and linger. Worth a visit: the town museum, which gives us an insight into the eventful history of the mountain town of Schladming.
The further way leads us to the entrance of the Talbachklamm, which connects Schladming with Rohrmoos. The path through the gorge is popular with guests and locals alike for a leisurely stroll, a run or even as a cycling route. However, after a few meters we leave the gorge path to the right to finally reach the center of Rohrmoos. From here we have another beautiful view back to today's varied stage before we head into the middle of the Schladminger Tauern on our next stage.
Stay overnight in Schladming or Rohrmoos in a business that is a Sommercard business. By staying overnight, you receive the Sommercard, with which you can take the ascent with the Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen free of charge.
Tip: In the spring of 2018, in the course of a casting, a jury and the readers of a major Austrian daily newspaper chose Martina Traisch from the Enns Valley and Manfred Polansky from the Mürz Valley as 2 "super hikers" who hiked the north and south routes in the summer. You can read about their experiences and adventures at www.steiermark.com/superwanderer: From ideal photo spots to hidden wine cellars in mountain huts. Do you want to follow in the footsteps of Martina and Manfred and also become a "super hiker"? It's easy: Register at www.steiermark.com/superwanderer and then post your experiences, videos and comments along the hiking route "From Glacier to Wine" - regardless of whether you hike the entire route or just one section. Every 5 stages also beckons a small reward!
