Discover a varied circular tour and experience the beauty of forest and meadow paths as well as charming local roads - perfect for a relaxing excursion into nature. The Georgskirche church is particularly worth seeing, which you can discover along the way.

The starting point of the hike is the sports facility in Georgsberg. After crossing the Zirknitz, we pass the old Wolfbauerkreuz. Shortly afterwards, we leave the municipal road to the right in the direction of the forest. Climbing slightly through the forest, we reach the Mariazellerweg, which leads us to the Franzosenkreuz. The route continues flat through the forest, leaving the municipal road on the right at “Sechterberg”. Slightly downhill, past a wayside cross to the edge of the forest. At the edge of the forest, our route takes us left along field paths and then municipal roads to the B76. At the war memorial and cross, we turn left and walk north along the B76 for a short distance until we reach a crosswalk with traffic lights. After crossing the B76, we follow the municipal road in a south-easterly direction into the Pichlinger Hofwald forest. After a short walk, we leave the forest. The Georgi Chapel, also known as the “Jürgen Chapel”, can be seen on a hill. After leaving the municipal road, we cross the Zirknitz over a narrow footbridge. The path climbs slightly into the forest, turns left and descends into the valley along the Zirknitz. We have now arrived in Rossegg with the Herz-Jesu chapel. The route continues slightly downhill on the municipal road until we cross the busy B76 main road, where we need to take great care! Shortly afterwards, we reach the parking lot at the Georgsberg sports facility.

Coming from Graz via the A9, at the Graz-West junction take the A2 towards Klagenfurt. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 towards Lannach-Deutschlandsberg.

Ausgangspunkt ist der Parkplatz beim Gasthof Schlosstoni, wir gehen entlang der B76 Richtung Norden bis zum Fußgängerübergang mit Ampel ca. 200m. Nach der Querung der B76 folgen wir der Gemeindestraße in südöstlicher Richtung, gleich danach in den Pichlinger Hofwald.Mitten im Wald an einer Kreuzung mit einem Bildbaum wäre - nach rechts-, Beschilderung "Stainz- Kalvarienberg" ein Abstecher zum nur 600 m entfernten Kalvarienberg - mit Kapelle und Kreuzweg- zu empfehlen.Zurückgekehrt zum Bildbaum im Wald, gehen wir in der Richtung unseres Hauptweges weiter und verlassen nach kurzer Wanderung den Wald. Auf einem Hügel ist schon die Georgskapelle, auch "Jürgenkapelle" genannt, zu sehen. Ein schöner Foto- und Rastplatz mit wunderschöner Aussicht ins Stainzertal und auf die Koralpe. Die Wanderung führt nun ein kleines Stück über die Gemeindestraße. Wir verlassen diese, wenden uns nach links und gehen, leicht fallend zur Zirknitz, die wir über einen schmalen Steg queren. Danach weiter auf Gemeindestraßen leicht steigend in den Wald, hier links abbiegen, (Markierung nicht verlieren!) und hinunter ins Tal entlang der Zirknitz. Später verlassen wir das Tal, leicht steigend und kommen nach Rossegg (ca.5 ½ km) mit der Herz-Jesu-Kapelle und gegenüberliegendem Rastplatz.Der Weg führt weiter auf der Gemeindestraße leicht fallend, und wir erreichen die stark befahrene Bundesstraße B76. Beim Überqueren ist größte Vorsicht geboten! Der Weg erreicht kurz danach die Sportanlage mit Tennisplatz von Georgsberg (7 km). Wir queren wieder die Zirknitz und kommen vorbei an einem besonders schönen, alten Wegkreuz (Wolfbauer-Kreuz).Kurz danach verlassen wir die Gemeindestraße rechts in Richtung Wald. Durch den Wald leicht steigend, erreichen wir den Mariazellerweg, welcher uns zum Franzosenkreuz (390m) führt (ca.9 ½ km). Weiter geht es eben durch den Wald, in "Sechterberg" verlassen wir die Gemeindestraße rechts (Markierung nicht verlieren). Leicht bergab, mit schönem Blick auf Stainz, vorbei an einem Wegkreuz bis zum Waldrand. Von hier ein paar Schritte als Abstecher zur Marienkapelle. Unser Weg führt am Waldrand links- über Feld- später Gemeindewege zur Bundesstraße 76. Beim Kriegerdenkmal und Kreuz gehen wir rechts ca. 50 m zum Ausgangspunkt, Parkplatz Gasthof Schlosstoni zurück.
