When coming from Admont towards Sankt Gallen, there is a sign on the left after the Buchauer saddle that shows the way to a mountain hut full of heart and coziness. The parking lot is only 30 minutes on foot away from the alpine idyll at 1,000 meters. This walk is a joy for both young and old, and at the hut, you will be greeted by a completely newly renovated log cabin and the Seidl family from Schermerhof.
From the farm to the Lahn-Alm
At the Schermerhof of the Seidl family, they are completely committed to the organic idea. The cows and pigs live peacefully, and accordingly, the products that are produced on the farm are outstanding. Similarly outstanding is the snack at the Lahn-Alm because the cheese, spreads, homemade bread, and house sausages are served on weekends at the Alm and delight all who walk there. A little sweetness is allowed. But one does not only hike to the Lahn-Alm for a snack. A little sweetness must also be there, as the farmers' donuts from the Seidls have supposedly saved many a Sunday. For thirst, there are cider, sweet cider, buttermilk, milk, schnapps, and juices. If you enjoy it so much that you want to have a supply of Schermerhof spreads and such at home, you can stock up at the farm and shop. All signs point to Lahn-Alm, you just have to follow them.
