Seed-resistant seeds are a prerequisite for propagating vegetables and flowers yourself. During the lecture you will learn which species are easy and sensible to propagate in the home garden, what criteria are used to select the seed carriers, what needs to be taken into account until the seeds are harvested, practical tips on seed cleaning, seed storage and germination.
Irmgard Scheidl cultivates 1 hectare of organic farmland in St.Margarethen/Raab in Eastern Styria, which is also used as a natural show garden, for garden seminars and for seed production; many years of experience in seed propagation; intensive involvement with old varieties and vegetable rarities, lectures on topics such as natural gardens, organic vegetable gardens, seed propagation, variety conservation and speaker for Arche Noah - Society for the Conservation of Crop Diversity.
