Archduke Johann and the wine!
In 1840, Archduke Johann acquired the Stainz estate, where he had orchards and vineyards planted. Eight yards were planted with the Blauer Wildbacher grape. The first vine nursery was established exclusively for this typical grape variety, from which Schilcher is still made today.
This guided tour of the Archduke Johann Museum takes place every Saturday and Sunday!
Saturday: 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 10:45 am to 12 noon
Museum admission including guided tour: Euro 14,--
No registration required!
