About the offer
The approximately one-hour slow train rides operated by the Hierzegger family offer a cosy way to explore the Tauplitzalm. On the journey, guests enjoy impressive views of the surrounding mountains (Totes Gebirge, Grimming, Dachstein, Stoderzinken, Schladminger Tauern, Gesäuse, ...).

At an altitude of 1,650 metres lies one of the most beautiful high alpine pastures in the Salzkammergut. With the Hierzegger family's slow train, it is possible to visit three of the six mountain lakes. The family-run business values hospitality and an authentic experience.
The tours on the slow train are ideal for enjoying the scenic beauty of the region and learning more about the local history and culture. A trip on the slow train is an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.
The unique variety of flowers is particularly fascinating from June to August. You can also marvel at the grazing cattle from mid-June to early/mid-September.
