The mining settlement is the second largest settlement and a district of the municipality of St. Kathrein am Hauenstein. The northern part was still used for mining (lignite mining) until 1960. It was a miners' settlement of the Ratten - St. Kathrein coal mine.
Today there are many residential buildings here, but it is still a reminder of the village's earlier history.
