Comprehensive insight into various finishing methods
Winter grafting of fruit trees is a tried and tested technique that can be learned with a little practice. In this seminar, you will gain a comprehensive insight into various grafting methods. You will learn which technique is suitable for which time, how and when scions are best pruned and what to look out for when selecting rootstocks. Under expert guidance, you will put what you have learned directly into practice and graft your own first fruit tree.
Please bring secateurs and, if available, your own grafting knife. Grafting knives can be borrowed for the course. The purchase of your own knife is only recommended after the course, as different models will be presented.
You can bring your own scions (one-year-old shoots of the desired variety).
Cut them as quickly as possible, store them in a sealed plastic bag in the fridge and specify the type of fruit when registering.
Speakers: Stefan Tschiggerl and Fritz Pacher are fruit tree caretakers and specialize in the care of fruit trees, the grafting of fruit trees and pomology (fruit variety science). A particular focus of their work is the preservation of old fruit varieties.
