Slow train ride on the Tauplitzalm
TauplitzSlow train and panoramic rides over the lake plateau Tauplitzalm.
At an altitude of 1.650 meters lies one of the most beautiful high alpine pastures of the Salzkammergut. With the slow train it is possible to visit three of the six mountain lakes. The trip takes about an hour. On this ride the whole view of the surrounding mountains opens up. (Totes Gebirge, Grimming, Dachstein, Stoderzinken, Schladminger Tauern, Gesäuse,...).
Especially fascinating in the months of June to August is the unique variety of flowers. From mid-June to early/mid-September you can also marvel at the grazing cattle.
Slow train alpine tours from mid-June to mid-September every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 am from the parking lot Tauplitzalm, directly at the alpine buffet. On September 27, 2024, the last scheduled trip will take place.
Group tours possible at any time by appointment.
Should the Hierzegger family not have a suitable free date, the Hüttner family also offers slow train raides acreoss the high plateau.
