Hochschlag, Straßegg

Open
The leisurely hike to the Hochschlag offers a wonderful alpine panorama of the Rennfeld, the Schöckel and the Teich- and Sommeralm.

The tour starts at the Almgasthof Stroßeggwirt, where there is also a parking lot or a SAM shared taxi stop if you want to arrive by public transport. It's comfortable through the forest and over gentle alpine meadows towards the mountain peaks. The climb to Hochschlag is a bit demanding, but in the hot summer months a cool forest provides shade. Once you reach the top you will be rewarded for the beads of sweat - a wonderful view of the Hochschlag summit cross awaits the hikers.

You go back the same way to Stroßeggwirt, where you will of course stop off. In addition to the good home-style cuisine, the hiking group is often expected to play a piece of music here or there is a delicious schnapps for the way.
