Big alpine hike of Passail

Open
The large alpine tour in the Almenland Nature Park leads from Passail over the Buchkogel to the Teichalm and on to the Sommeralm. We then go back via the Ochsenhalt.

This day tour leads from the Passailer Kessel up to the core area of the nature park, the Teich- and Sommeralm. Shortly after the start you reach the romantic Lindenberg Church with a beautiful view over the valley. Past the Almenland beekeeping Kreiner you hike over the Buchkogeln to the Teichalm and on to the Osser. The steep climb is worth it, the view from the Osser summit cross goes far beyond - over the Teichalmsee, the Hochlantsch and the Rote Wand.

Now the most beautiful part of the tour awaits: always with a beautiful view, you hike on soft alpine soil along the mountain ridge to the Bründlalm with the striking three weather crosses. The descent begins here and you soon reach the Ochsenhalt, which is known for the abundance of rare native orchids that bloom here in June and are strictly protected. The rest of the way back to Passail also leads a bit along the Raab, which rises a few kilometers above.

The hike leads through pastureland, please do not bring a dog with you during the pasture season (beginning of June - beginning of October)!

The path can be walked without any major difficulties, but due to the length of the route it requires physical fitness!
