Theatre: “I Am Dynamite”
A summer evening full of theatrical art "I am Dynamite" by F. Nietzsche. Theater Quadrat performs at the open-air museum Stübing among old farmhouses and meadows.
When theater meets old wooden beams, a special atmosphere is created. “Guests in Stübing” brings the Theater Quadrat ensemble to the stage of the Austrian Open Air Museum Stübing in Styria. Plays, speeches, and stories unfold between historic farmhouses and wide meadows. The valley becomes the audience, and nature serves as a silent backdrop.
On special evenings, the area north of Graz transforms into a place for contemporary theater. Theater Quadrat is known for clear productions and powerful texts. Without an elaborate stage design, but with a close connection to the audience. This fits well in Stübing. There’s no need for costly technology here. The old buildings, the evening light, and the rustling of the trees create a framework that supports.
In this unique atmosphere, the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and his work Ecce homo take center stage. Nietzsche has shaped and influenced all generations since the 19th century, as he transcends all perspectives in philosophy, education, bourgeois life, and thus the all-too-human aspect. As Nietzsche described himself, he is “not a man, but dynamite,” and remains one of our most astonishing and uncanny contemporaries to this day.
