With the annual theme BLOOM, the Universalmuseum Joanneum is expecting a blossoming program in 2026: 1 theme, 8 locations, 10 exhibitions.

BLOOM turns the Universalmuseum Joanneum into a stage for the flower from spring to autumn 2026: exhibitions at various locations illuminate it as a cultural, scientific, social, and political actor. Art, historical objects, natural sciences, and contemporary interventions demonstrate the close relationship between humans and flowering plants – from myths and rituals to current questions surrounding climate change, colonialism, and agriculture.

Alongside the exhibitions, there is a varied program of tours and events that ranges from easily accessible offerings to special evening experiences. A special highlight is the festival month of June 2026 under the title BLOOMen in June with the BLOOM Fest on June 14, 2026, at the Austrian Sculpture Park.
