Wexl Trails - Summit tour via the Vorauer Schwaig

From the Hilmtor starting point, the trail leads steadily uphill to the Vorauer Schwaig and from there on to the summit of the Hochwechsel.
On this tour you can experience the centerpiece of the Styrian Wexl Trails, the Vorauer Schwaig Trail, both uphill and downhill.
Day tickets are available online!
Opening hours are from May 15 to Nov. 01 from 09:00-19:00!
The Styrian Panorama Trails were financed to 60 percent by Leader funding, with the remainder shared between the participating municipalities (Schäffern, Pinggau, Friedberg, Dechantskirchen, St. Lorenzen am Wechsel, Rohrbach an der Lafnitz and Lafnitz).

Directions - By car
- via the Südautobahn (A2) to the Pinggau exit
- at the traffic circle take the 3rd exit
- along the B54 in the direction of Graz/Hartberg
- Take the Friedberg exit
- Follow the main road to the Thonet Museum
- then turn onto Schwaighofstraße
- pass the Gasthaus Panoramastüberl until you reach the Hilmtor rest area
The tour is signposted throughout.

- Enjoy the breathtaking view at the Vorauer Schwaig!
- Or take a short break at the end of your tour at the Hilmtor with its inviting schnapps bar!

- Aerosolium St. Lorenzen: Relax and take a deep breath in the soothing brine climate.
- Friedberg Adventure Mountain: The observation tower and themed playground offer history and adventure for the whole family.
- Thonet Museum Friedberg: Exciting insights into the history of the famous chair design.
- Maria Hasel pilgrimage church: Baroque church and spiritual place in Pinggau.
- Pinggau bathing lake: ideal for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing.
