Without exaggeration, the
Kleine Raabklamm is the most beautiful section of the Raabtal cycle path. Between
Weiz and Oberdorf, you cycle through alluvial forest and right next to the cheerfully bubbling Raab. In spring, the wood anemones bloom here, in summer the forest and water are refreshing and in autumn the magnificent colouring of the foliage is a delight.
This section is a great way to combine culture and nature.
In St. Ruprecht you should visit the
art park if possible or stop off at one of the many
inns, in Weiz the diverse shopping opportunities are tempting.

Route planner
- This section begins at the crossroads in Götzenbichl.
- We turn off there and ride down to the orchard.
- At the orchard, we turn left uphill and now have the first views of the Zetz, Raas and Kulm.
- We now turn right and take the unpaved but well-surfaced cycle path in the direction of ‘Bärental’.
- We descend through the forest to the Raab, keep left at the small bridge and continue along the course of the river in the ‘small Raab gorge’.
- At Oberdorf we leave the Raabklamm gorge, cycle through the village and then keep to the right.
- Before the Raab bridge, we turn left again onto the cycle path and cycle along it to Mitterdorf.
- There we reach the main road again, turn right and continue in the direction of St. Ruprecht an der Raab.
- We soon pass Stadl Castle on the right, which is owned by the Kinsky family.
- We reach St. Ruprecht and cycle in to the beautiful baroque church.
- Past the baroque church and the peace grotto, the path leads us right into Parkstraße.
- The historic park in St. Ruprecht is ideal for a short break and its shady trees invite you to linger.
- From Parkstraße, we turn right down onto the lower main road, which we don't stay on for long.
- After crossing the Weizbach stream, we turn left again up into Bahnhofstrasse.
- From here, the route takes us onto another section of the R11.
