Semriacher Tour

Breathe in pure fresh air – a wonderful circular tour with beautiful panoramic views and lots of typical (mountain) cuisine in the mountainous region of Graz. Don't miss: the Lurgrotte Semriach is Austria's largest dripstone cave!
To start with, there's a magnificent view of Graz's local mountain at Pension Schöcklblick. Then it's time to get climbing and off you go, up and down (a good 800 metres in elevation gain require a certain amount of stamina if you're not on an e-bike), past lovingly renovated and flower-bedecked farms. After a break at Gasthaus Theisslwirt, we head north along the Schöcklstraße. The panoramic road offers wonderful views of the western Styrian mountains and the Hochschwab region. From Gasthaus Jägerwirt we head in the direction of Ritzendorf and Anger bei Passail to turn into Hinterleitenstraße after crossing the L 318 and cycle to Rechbergdorf. Once again you are rewarded with magnificent views, this time into the Almenland with Teichalm and Sommeralm. Now we head in the direction of Semriach again, turning right to Niedertrötsch.

The tour continues via Dreihöfen to Zehenthof farm on Bodenring with a guesthouse well worth seeing, to the district of Neudorf near Semriach – the stage destination: Gasthaus Häuserl in the forest. The legendary Semriach soup is welcome refreshment for hikers and cyclists. We then ride on the Semriach Pöllau cycle paths to the Lurgrotte, Austria's largest dripstone cave. Afterwards you can take a break on the market square in Semriach at "Tiziano" or Pfleger pastry shop, after all it is not much further to the starting point "Schöcklblick".
