More information

The journey to Grundlsee is best planned with google.at/maps.
From the Murbodenhüttl you go back about 50 meters and after the Zimitz bridge turn right onto a forest path.

You follow the markings of the hiking trail, which leads above the Zimitz stream in a northerly direction. After about 1.5 kilometers you can make a short descent to the waterfall. At the time of snowmelt or after prolonged rainfall, the roaring water offers an impressive natural spectacle.

The hiking trail leads upstream below the Reichenstein (1,913 meters). You cross the Zimitz twice at short intervals. The valley floor widens into a basin where the Zimitz-Alm (983 meters) is located. As a way back, a circular route via the Gößler Schwaiberalm offers itself. The trail leads north for a short distance and then climbs to the right following the markings on trail no. 213 past the hunting lodge at 1,113 meters.

Descending via the Gößler Schwaiber, you reach the Schachen Schwaiber after about one kilometer on trail no. 213. Now the trail continues downhill on a forest road. In the hamlet of Schachen, the trail leads about 200 meters past the old mill to the forest road. Following this to the left, you will shortly return to the starting point.

Refreshment stop at the Murbodenhüttl.
