Edelrautehütte

The cozy Edelraute hut is located at an altitude of 1,725 m and can be reached from Hohentauern on foot (5.5 km) or by car or taxi via the toll road. From the parking lot, you can reach the hut in just about 10 minutes.

The Alpine club hut is the ideal starting point for you to explore the Großer Scheiblsee or to climb the surrounding mountains – such as the Bösenstein (2,448 m), the Großer Hengst (2,159 m), or the Hauseck (1,982 m).

For your overnight stay, there are 6 double rooms, 3 four-bed rooms, 1 five-bed room, as well as a 10-person dormitory and an 18-person dormitory – a total of 57 sleeping places. In the morning, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast buffet.

This is also a great place for celebrations: Whether birthdays, baptisms, weddings, confirmations, retirement parties, family or Christmas festivities – the hut provides the perfect setting. A cozy lounge and a large dining hall can accommodate 120 people, and in summer, the beer garden offers an additional approximately 150 seats.

In summer, you can enjoy wonderful hikes or fish at the Großer and Kleiner Scheiblsee (fishing equipment rental available). In winter, ski tours, snowshoe hikes, and fun sledding await you.
