GUIDED HIKING DREAM - Trisslwand

Grundlsee

About the offer

The path to the summit cross on one of Aussee's most beautiful panoramic mountains is actually a single panoramic path with magnificent and extraordinary views of the mountain and lake landscape, which then leads to a breathtaking allround panorama. Not quite so easy but definitely recommended!

  • Difficulty level ‘medium’
  • Starting point car park Gasthaus Trisselwand-Blick (Tressensattel)
  • Walking time approx. 5 hours
  • 8.1 km length
  • 797 metres in altitude

This dream tour starts at the Tressensattel car park in Altaussee. There you walk across meadows, later through forest to the junction of path 233 and continue uphill to the right. The path climbs quite steeply through the forest (slippery in places!) and soon you reach a crossing forest road. Go straight over it, then steeply uphill, but always on a good track. There are already some beautiful views of the Trisselwand and the Dachstein behind you. You pass through the forest one last time before reaching the mountain pine zone. Then it is a long and very steep ascent over a now partly very rocky path. There is also a safety railing in places, but this is not necessary for the average hiker, although you should be sure-footed and have a head for heights! You soon reach a cosy bench with a magnificent view of Lake Grundlsee and the Dachstein to the left.
The trail now continues at a leisurely pace on the main path, partly uphill, partly downhill, sometimes through mountain pine lanes, sometimes across meadows. It gets steeper one last time, with the path leading very close to the edge of the precipice in places. The summit cross is soon reached. From there, a spectacular view of the sister mountain Loser and Altaussee awaits.

The hikes only take place in good weather.

Meeting point for departure to the starting point (Tressensattel) at 8:00 am at the Gutshof on the Zloam.
The journey to the starting point is included in the price for hotel guests at Narzissendorf Zloam. External participants please enquire when registering for the tour.
