Taste purist, self-confessed nature freak, drug scientist and visionary long-distance runner:

Werner Retter fits just as little into a fruit crate as the diverse ideas and projects that he has realized in recent years. In the early 1990s, he helped the Pöllauer Hirschbirne to make a brilliant comeback - since 2006 the green, round fruit has been a regional cultural asset and has given its name to the entire region around the Pöllauer valley. This also applies to the pomegranate.

Retter has poured insights, recipes and stories about the red miracle worker into an exciting book. And help farmers in disadvantaged regions to earn a secure income with the cultivation.
